Congressman Knollenberg Tours SSIM labs
Nov 10, 2003 - Wayne State President Irvin D. Reid presented Congressman Joe Knollenberg with the "Champion of Science" award for his support of science and engineering research at Wayne State. The presentation took place November 10 on a visit by Rep. Knollenberg to the College's Smart Sensor and Integrated Microsystems lab. The award is sponsored by the Science Coalition, which recognizes U.S. senators and members of congress who show support for scientific research and engineering. Wayne State is a member of the Science Coalition. Rep. Knollenberg's tour through the SSIM lab and clean room was guided by Professor Gregory Auner. Interim Dean Ralph Kummler also accompanied Knollenberg.
